This week is Star Kid Week at KES. We are celebrating our amazing students who consistently show Star behavior. In celebration, students may wear pajamas to school as follows:
Monday- AU, Focus, and PK Tuesday- Kindergarten students Wednesday- First Grade students Friday- Second Grade students wear pajamas and all students may wear their favorite hat in celebration of Star Kids Week. Parents—are you curious about the Cobb County School District gifted education identification and eligibility process? Dr. King will be hosting an information session on Monday 9/16 from 8:15 to 9:00 am in the Kennesaw Elementary Media Center. This meeting is for parents of Kindergarten and First grade students, especially—or any parent just curious about the process. We look forward to seeing you!
The end of the first quarter is October 11th and conference week is quickly approaching. Conference week is October 14th-18th. Due to conference week, students will have early release all week. I will be sharing your child’s progress and his/her report card with you during this time. I’m really looking forward to meeting with you! Conferences will begin at 1:00. Please let me know as soon as possible if you have a preference for a particular day or time frame. I will send home a conference letter on September 19th. Please cut off the bottom of the letter and return it to confirm the scheduled day/time.
First Grade walking club is on Wednesdays and starts at 7:20. Make sure your child wears tennis shoes if they are participating.
Our class enjoyed their first book buddies with Mrs. Harris' 2nd grade class! We cannot wait to do it again soon!Our class has been doing a wonderful job retelling the story Chrysanthemum this week. We have been learning about the characters, setting and key details throughout the story.Dates to Remember:

Our class also earned silly sock day & hat day on Tuesday 8/13 and stuffed animal day on Wednesday 8/14! Great job! Thank you for supporting Boosterthon!!! :) |
